What is sugaring?
Sugaring is a traditional hair removal method. The paste is made essentially of sugar, water and lemon juice. It is applied at body temperature against the direction of hair growth, wraps around each hair down to the root and is then flicked off in the direction of growth.
Because the paste barely sticks to the skin, it is gentler than many other methods, and any residue simply washes off with water. Read how it compares to wax in my guide Sugaring or waxing?.
Treatment areas
- Legs – full, upper or lower legs
- Bikini – full bikini (Brazilian) including the bum strip
- Underarms – very popular combined with bikini
- Face – upper lip or full face
- Arms, stomach, buttocks and lower back
A package of underarms, bikini and legs costs less than booking each area separately – see all prices below.
Why sugaring
- Hair is removed from the root – skin stays smooth for about 3–4 weeks
- Works from just 3–5 mm of hair – no long waiting
- No stubble and no razor burn
- With regular sessions hair often grows back finer and sparser
- Natural, water-soluble ingredients – great for sensitive skin
What to expect
We start with a short chat about your wishes and skin type. Then I cleanse the skin, apply the sugar paste and remove the hair area by area. Soothing aftercare finishes the treatment. Mild redness is normal and usually fades within a few hours.
How to prepare and look after your skin afterwards: see before and aftercare.
