Why waxing instead of shaving?
A shave lasts a day or two – then come stubble, itching and often ingrown hairs. And your own back is almost impossible to shave. Waxing and sugaring remove hair from the root, so skin stays smooth for about 3–4 weeks.
Regrowing hair has a natural, fine tip instead of a blunt cut edge, so it feels softer than stubble after shaving.
Treatment areas for men
- Back – full or lower back only
- Chest and stomach
- Arms – full or forearms
- Underarms
- Face and buttocks
Sugaring or wax?
I use both methods and choose according to your hair and skin: for very dense, coarse hair on large areas wax is often quicker, while sensitive skin benefits from the gentler sugar paste. More in my guide Sugaring or waxing?.
For athletes and tattoos
Swimming, cycling, martial arts or bodybuilding – smooth skin is practical for many athletes, and tattoos look much better without hair. Note: I only treat new tattoos once they have fully healed.
Your first appointment
Let your hair grow for 2–3 weeks after your last shave – about 5 mm is ideal. I trim very long hair on site. The first session stings the most; it gets noticeably easier every time. Aftercare tips: before and aftercare.
